Harbor Haven does not have any cooking facility on site, therefore a nutritional lunch should be sent in a disposable bag with your child’s name and group number clearly marked, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays.  Due to Kosher dietary laws at the Golda Och Campus, only non-meat lunches are permitted. All types of beef, poultry, pork and shellfish are not permitted. (Other kinds of fish, such as tuna are fine.) On FRIDAYS we provide lunch (see below for more details.) On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays there is a paid lunch option available.

All lunches are refrigerated promptly upon arrival. We are unable to microwave lunches, due to time constraints and the distance of the kitchen to the lunch tables.

We will provide you with “Lunch contains nuts” stickers to place on your child’s lunch bag if you send an item with any type of nut product. (Children with nut allergies will not sit near a child eating nut products brought from home.)

If your child forgets his/her lunch, we always have nutritional choices available.

We provide juices, or cold water at lunch time. We can provide milk although it is not typically put on the table. Please let us know if your child drinks milk at lunchtime.  Cold water is available throughout the day.

On FRIDAYS,  we provide lunch. The tentative menu is as follows:

June 28th             Pizza & Salad
July 5th                Chicken Nuggets & Chips
July 12th              Baked Ziti & Salad
July 19th              Pizza & Salad
July 26th             Chicken Nuggets & Chips
August 2nd         Baked Ziti & Salad
August 9th          Pizza & Salad

We make every effort to provide gluten and/or dairy free alternatives on FRIDAYS lunch days (click here for Food Permission and Complimentary Lunch Selection Sheet).  If your child will not or cannot eat any of the Wednesday lunch options, please send a lunch from home, which will be refrigerated.

  • Please click here for details about pre-ordering the paid lunch option on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays.

Harbor Haven provides a mid-morning snack and an afternoon snack. Morning snack may be graham crackers, animal crackers, oatmeal cookies, fruit, pretzels or cereal snack bags or other similar choices. Afternoon snack may consist of cookies, fruit, ice cream, ice pops, pretzels, etc. Two options will be offered at each snack time. If your child is on a restrictive diet or has food allergies, we will have some alternate choices.  However, you may be asked to supply some acceptable snacks.
