Robyn Tanne has been a special educator since 1977, working on both the elementary and middle school levels. Her undergraduate degree was from Boston University, while graduate work was done at American University. Robyn has taught in several New Jersey school districts, most recently in the Union Township Public Schools. While with the Union schools, Robyn became trained in the Wilson Reading system. After many years in the classroom, Robyn then worked as a transition coordinator for the district. During the summers, Robyn maintained her love of camping by working as a supervisor and administrator at Harbor Hills Day Camp. In 1996, Robyn with Skip Vichness, former director of Harbor Hills, decided to create a unique summer camp environment for children with mild special needs. Harbor Haven was born in the summer of 1996 and opened in the summer of 1997. Robyn is the Executive director of Harbor Haven and having now retired from teaching, spends all of her time to develop programming and staff for each wonderful summer.
