A nutritional lunch should be sent in a disposable bag with your child’s name and group number clearly marked. Please do not send lunch boxes. All lunches are refrigerated promptly on arrival. Due to Kosher dietary laws at the Schechter Campus, only non-meat lunches are permitted. All types of beef, poultry, pork and shellfish are not allowed. (Other kinds of fish, such as tuna are fine.) We are unable to microwave campers’ lunches, due to time constraints and the distance of the kitchen to the lunch tables.

If your child forgets his/her lunch, we always have nutritional choices available at camp.

Harbor Haven provides juice, milk or cold water at lunch time. Cold water is available throughout the day.

On Wednesdays,  Harbor Haven provides lunch. The tentative menu is as follows:

July 2nd       Pizza & salad
July 9th      Chicken Nuggets & chips  
July 16th     Baked Ziti & salad
July 23rd     Pizza & Salad
July 30th    Chicken Nuggets & chips
August 6th    Macaroni & Cheese
August 13th  Pizza & Salad

If your child doesn’t like or is unable to eat the lunches provided on Wednesdays, please send a lunch from home. it will be refrigerated as usual.

SNACKS

Harbor Haven provides a mid-morning snack and an afternoon snack. Morning snack may be graham crackers, animal crackers, oatmeal cookies, fruit, pretzels or cereal snack bags. Afternoon snack may consist of cookies, fruit, ice cream, ice pops, pretzels, etc. Two options will be offered at each snack time. If your child is on a restrictive diet, you may be asked to supply some acceptable snacks.

Harbor Haven does not serve any foods that contain nuts or nut products.
